Enamel pins are the most-ordered custom product in the world for a reason: tiny, tactile and endlessly collectible. Here's how to get your first batch right.
1. Start with size and shape
Most pins land between 1.5 and 3 cm. Smaller than 1.5 cm and fine details disappear in the enamel fill; larger than 4 cm and unit cost climbs fast. Send us your logo or sketch and we'll recommend the sweet spot.
2. Soft vs. hard enamel
Soft enamel has raised metal lines with recessed colour you can feel — classic, textured, slightly cheaper. Hard enamel is polished flat for a smooth, jewellery-grade finish. Both use the same tooling.
3. Understand the tooling fee
Your design gets a custom-stamped mould — a one-off fee, typically $89–120 depending on size. It's reused for every reorder, so repeat orders drop straight to unit price.
4. Backings and extras
Rubber clutches are standard; upgrade to locking backs, epoxy coating or glitter enamel for a few cents per piece.
